PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Powers Brown worked with SWA Group as the architectural consultant for the design of prototype food service kiosks, washrooms and one unique chef-driven café located in the heart of Lusail City, Qatar. The prototypes are coupled in various relationships with one another and oriented strategically to create different experiences within their respective pocket parks. An elevated park within a park occurs at the roof level where a small dining terrace rests on top of the kiosks fitting just underneath a steel and fabric shade structure. These terraces are coupled with neighboring roof gardens sitting on top of a carefully placed washroom. This relationship between kiosk, multi-level dining, washroom and shade structure is strategic making each element a place-maker rather than reducing the buildings to objects in space. The project is intended for public use and readily available for FIFA World Cup 2022.
