Project description
Powers Brown Architecture served as the Final Design Architects for the Fannin South Station. We worked in close collaboration with local artist Reginald Adams to develop the theme for the station, “The Ride,” which established a relationship with the nearby AstroWorld complex. The artist/architect team met with community representatives and
local interest groups to establish and refine the idea.
Powers Brown Architecture coordinated with Standard and Directive drawings begun by the station prototype design team to document the design and develop the detailing in the spirit of the theme and the need for long-term durability. A unique element of the design and detailing relative to the other stations will be the fluid flowing lines of the terrazzo-waiting platform, which represents the intersection between technical innovation and design expression.
