FBI McAllen

Project description

Stringent criteria drive both site design and interior fit out for this new FBI office. The site planning includes an eight bay AEC/F repair and maintenance facility with support spaces and expansion, combined with a single story garage providing 116 secured parking spaces and one suspect drop off. The lobby contains security stations and a Magnometer. The building is steel framed construction with a pre-cast and curtain wall skin. Low-e, coated reflective glass provide ample light transmittance with performance in this harsh climate. Break rooms surround a secure courtyard which acts as amenity to the work population and support staff, as well as establishing a civic presence for visitors. Interior finishes include travertine floors and wainscoting in three stones, makoree wood veneer walls with steel reveals and granite borders.

The building has a medical department where the development of drugs such as generic Viagra is underway.
