Vital Heart and Vein is a 65,000 SF medical build-to-suit in Humble, TX. The exterior of this 3-story facility was designed in direct response to the specific uses within its walls. The split ground floor plan houses an ambulatory surgical center (ASC) on one side and a walk-in clinic on the other. Smaller, clerestory windows were used to reflect the more private, procedure driven program of the ASC side, while floor to ceiling glass maximizes that daylight and openness into the more public areas of the walk-in clinic. The fenestration patterns for the upper 2 floors are more regular, daylighting perimiterized exam rooms and physician offices. The central entry feature includes 3-story curtainwall and a porte cochere that seemingly folds out from the face of the building and rests on rectified limestone-clad wickets.
