Century Oaks

Project description

Century Oaks is a 5-building master plan in Stafford, Texas. This development attempted to balance the conflicting issues of market forces and economic issues with composition and configuration by accommodating a repetitive system of primary and secondary entrances, variable building sizes, and individual building expression.

Each building was conceived of as a combination of body and shell. The shell provided individual expression to each building in relation to entry and variety. The body of each building was designed to provide a foundation of consistency for the entire complex. Both the body and shell were then overwritten with a system of canopy applications that link each shell and body as a unit – each building becoming both related and different – characteristics often found in streetscapes. The project was also broken down into smaller increments, changing scale and expression while still accommodating multitenant leasing.
