POST Houston

Project description

POST Houston is a 550,000 sf mixed use redevelopment of a historic former United States Post Office in Downtown Houston, Texas. POST Houston includes a five-acre rooftop park and organic farm called Skylawn, with multiple dining and event venues and a top-notch view of the Houston skyline. That farm will supply ingredients to the restaurants operating at POST Houston. Inside, the mixed-use building will include office space, coworking space, restaurants, and bars, and a food hall inspired by a Tokyo night market

The project’s success is directly dependent on its relationship to Buffalo Bayou walking trails and connection to the already walkable downtown environment. Four large atria, each offering a unique experience, are cut in to the existing 2-story building and provide the bulk of vertical movement between floors. The project is designed in collaboration with architecture firm OMA and Partner Jason Long.
