Southwest Capital Bank, the state’s No. 20 largest bank by local deposits, according to Albuquerque Business First reporting, is expanding into Santa Fe with a new, full-service branch and regional headquarters. Southwest Capital Bank will construct a new two-story building at an old Wells Fargo property at 545 W. Cordova Road in Santa Fe designed to serve as a full-service branch and the bank’s regional headquarters, according to a press release.

Powers Brown Architecture is the architect for the project, and the bank has yet to choose a general contractor, Southwest Capital Bank CEO Chez Steel said. It will pull permits to demolish the building and simultaneously seek bids for a general contractor. The new 9,000-square-foot branch will feature full-service banking, drive-up lanes and ample on-site parking for both personal and business customers.
