This year’s show benefited the Houston Furniture Bank, The Texas Association for Interior Design (TAID) and The Houston Design Community. The Houston Furniture Bank is a non-profit organization whose mission statement is to “make empty houses into homes”. The IIDA Houston City Center is proud to support an organization that is actively changing the Houston community, one home at a time. The Texas Association for Interior Design (TAID) is an advocacy group representing designers and speaking as a single, unified voice on legislative issues which affect the business of interior design in Texas. IIDA strongly supports this organization that ensures the future of Texas interior design.
The 6th Annual Product Runway 2014: “Garden of Secrets,” featured teams consisting of talented interior design and architecture professionals as well as design students. The teams competed by designing and constructing couture garments utilizing interior design materials provided to them by their paired garment labels (industry partners). Our theme was the daffodil and was represented in our design transformation and modeled on the runway by Lindsay Seng. Knoll Office Furniture and Bolyu Carpet provided carpet backing, braided yarn, wire management systems, and LED lights.
