A joint venture has acquired 18 acres in southern Houston with plans to build a 224,700-square-foot distribution center.
Houston-based Griffin Partners, in partnership with Peakline Real Estate Funds, expects to break ground on Griffin 288/West Airport at 2218 Airport Blvd. in May, said CBRE’s Faron Wiley, who represented the joint venture in the land transaction, which closed on Dec. 30.
The front-load warehouse, which was designed by Houston-based Powers Brown Architecture, will have 32-foot clear height and parking for 113 cars and 61 trailers. The building is designed to accommodate up to two tenants, Wiley said, though the hope is to sign a single tenant. Wiley is marketing the project along with CBRE’s Billy Gold.
