Description:
Powers Brown Architecture is looking to add a project coordinator in our St. John's office. The Project Coordinator plays a key role in supporting project teams by overseeing production of drawings, consultant information, and project documentation. This position requires strong technical knowledge, organization, and the ability to work across multiple projects while maintaining quality and deadlines. The ideal candidate must have a demonstrated knowledge of building technologies and document organization as well as excellent interpersonal abilities, strong communication and organizational skills, and enjoy working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of architectural drawings and construction documents
- Coordinate consultant drawings and information (structural, mechanical, electrical, civil)
- Maintain drawing standards, title blocks, and documentation consistency
- Support permit and authority submissions, including responses to AHJ comments
- Assist with construction phase services such as RFIs, shop drawings, and site review documentation
- Coordinate internal project deadlines and deliverables
- Ensure drawings align with applicable building codes and standards
- Support senior and junior staff with project coordination and quality control reviews
The ideal candidate will have:
- Degree/Diploma in Architectural Technology (P.Tech), a degree in Architecture, or related programs.
- 3–10 years of experience in an architectural or consulting office
- Strong proficiency in Revit (required); AutoCAD experience considered an additional asset
- Solid understanding of construction documentation and building assemblies
- Familiarity with NBC and local building codes (NBC 2020 an asset)
- Strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
- Ability to work independently within an integrated, team environment.
