IT Support Coordinator - Houston

Powers Brown Architecture is looking to add an experienced IT Support Coordinator to its Houston office. This is an ‘in person’ (not remote) position based in our Houston office, providing support for offices across North America, during the standard business hours M-F, 8:30am – 5:30pm.

This position requires a self-starter and a skilled communicator (written and verbal) who can effectively manage and prioritize support tasks.  The position demands a high sense of ownership and collaboration with other IT resources. You will be part of a dynamic IT team that aims for creating the best user experience combined with excellent customer service, while focusing on balancing established IT protocols and reducing end-user downtime.

The selected candidate will:

  • Work closely with the Chief Administrative Officer and MSP to provide technology support for multiple office locations across North America
  • Provide support of assigned systems through troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, and connectivity problems, including user access and component configuration, escalating as needed
  • Provide implementation support for new systems including upgrades, customization, integration, and testing
  • Provide knowledge and support for assigned systems and distributed applications
  • Work with MSP customer support to ensure company policies are documented and up-to-date related to help desk requests for assigned systems that impact user productivity
  • Assist in the operation and maintenance of the back-up environments for all systems when assigned
  • Ensure quality assurance processes are being followed and cyber insurance requirements are enforced.
  • Research, evaluate and recommend new technologies

The ideal candidate should be:

  • Experience with Autodesk products (REVIT and Collaborate), Newforma, Bluebeam is a plus
  • Knowledgeable in Windows Server operating systems (Windows 2016, 2019, 2022)
  • Familiar with DELL hardware (both server and desktop)
  • Able to set up and manage printer queues
  • Able to script and provide operating system/application troubleshooting and software deployment
  • Able to work well with others and to demonstrate an excellent quality of work with little or no supervision required
  • Highly organized and possess excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Knowledgable in Microsoft Office Suite

The preferred candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum (3) years of IT help desk experience
  • Microsoft Administrator Certification (Fundamentals, Azure Administrator Associate), Cisco Certified Network Associate
  • An Associates degree along with previous IT experience and certifications will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree
